Chapter 4: Success and Manipulation
So far in the book, we have covered the various types of manipulation, the kind of certain individuals who would repeatedly, and sometimes consciously, do this behavior and how to counter them for protection. You may have gotten the impression that any or all manipulation is harmful, not worth the damage of any kind and should be avoided at all times. That is a tough front to break down, especially since not many, but plenty of, common figures are used as examples of said behavior. Rightfully so, as it has harmed millions of people. That is not always the cause as this chapter will surely show you that this can be used for greatness for one's self and, at most, be used as a tool for utilitarianism. Throughout time and human history, there are numerous examples of the world's most cunning leaders and the most infamous rulers, known and unknown, who have shown that manipulation for the people and nation is a greater gain than for one's self. It is never an easy path for these kinds of people, but the rewards are tremendous and it will have rippling effects. The outcomes of these tactics, used with care, have created prosperous civilizations and brought innovations and machinery we still use and marvel over today. This shows that when used for good, manipulation can give one prosperous wealth and large amounts of power all for the greater good. On the other hand, when these skills are misused and utilized by those with an overly ambitious mind and malicious intent, the resulting consequences have caused the genocides of million and have led to the creation of men with armies with an unstoppable force at their disposal. Because of some of the negative connotations associated with these things, the stigma will no doubt arise yet some of it can be untrue. We will go over the benefits of benevolent manipulation and the success of it and how you can use it to help benefit you and perhaps use it to even try to help other people. They made even like you more amongst the prominent figures, Julius Caesar is one who was able to use his manipulation to become a dictator and do good by his lower-working people of Rome. Little is known about his childhood but we knew he first started his career in the military, making a great name for himself because of the enemies he defeated and battles won. His greatest achievement in the military was the invasion of the galleries, which he knew there was internal tensions in the tribes and took advantage of them. This also helped him in the political aspect of Rome because of all the strategizing he did in the field. He progressed through all of the ranks in almost a decade, until he became consul of the Roman republic, the highest political office. Once he was in office, many changes came about. One of them was the integration of those who lived outside of Rome.
